New stories for time-honored walls

Sternbach Showroom

Brunico

From the hidden insiders’ tip to a top spot with bright, inviting rooms – in order to present our objects in an ampler way and to literally put them in a better light, in 2017 Sternbach decided to completely rethink our exhibition concept by rearranging the entrance area. This should grant more visibility from outside so that our customers would find us.

Together with the architect team nu//17, friends of ours, we developed different solutions for the modification of the store. After having tested the structural capacity and the checks of the historic preservation agency, we were able to implement the optimal version. An entire wall was removed, while the long alignments as a typical element of the original space were preserved.

Nu//17 cared for the submission of the plans and together with our reliable partner Hache carpenter we went for the planning with much enthusiasm: a lot of glass as a counterpoint to the existing structure, without any visual obstruction of our stars, the furniture and fixtures. The door, orchestrated as a portal, gives the glass surface the necessary static strength. The massive marble blocks of the former door frame were placed in front of the shop and serve as sitting benches.

On the first floor, there is a smaller presentation room for temporary exhibitions and projects in addition to the large showroom.
